Join me as I walk a new piece of public land for the very first time! Whether you are a beginner hunter or more advanced, these deer hunting and scouting tips will help you be more successful during hunting season. Scouting is what separates the majority of successful hunters from the pack, so I highly encourage you to learn as much as you can about scouting for deer. This is deer scouting 101. I’ll discuss things such as:
– How to scout a new public land hunting property
– What to actually look for when scouting
– Where to start scouting on public land
– How to tell if other hunters are using an area
– Different strategies to pattern bucks
– Using Onxhunt to have better results hunting
– The importance of picking a specific tree to hunt from
If you got any value out of this video, please like and subscribe! My goal is to help shorten the learning curve for other hunters so you can make fewer mistakes and knock down more bucks! Happy hunting!

Fantastic video. Never realized scouting is (Iβm guessing) 60% if not more of the hunt! Thank you! π
Deer cams on public, isnt that illegal. Stands left after season are illegal too??
Our wma allows small game hunting late season so thatβs when I scout win win
Any advice for Texas public? Heavy pressure and you can hand toss corn, had good bucks on cam only when I am not there or at night. Looking to scout this February.
i’m in ohio as well and can’t seem to get a deer ever, trying to hunt public land is impossible
