Years ago a cousin fell out of a tree blind. He’s a paraplegic. Yeah I’m good with a sissy ground blind. Plus I like gun season and that does not seem like a good idea in a tree blind.
I was just sitting in swivel chair no bling up against a tree and killed a 7pt buck 10 yrds away from me with crossbow
Stay warmer also
I bring a small peice of plush carpet and a swivel bucket seat for my blind. And I keep the bearing on that swivel WELL greased. Talk about SILENT…
I embraced climbing stands. I enjoyed being mobile.
The gun climber I had was very comfortable and safe.
I was comfortable taking an occasional nap.
Then I started bowhunting.
My safety harness is like my seat belt.
Its not optional.
The shortest I can make this is.
Naps are a good thing.
Better when taken on the ground.
I have built several. Each one improving on the others.
Comfort is the most important thing.
Concealment and sound dampening.
And room for two is a good thing.
All have a roof, more for shade than shelter from rain.
Carpet on the floor and walls.
A shooting rail with insulation for a quiet rest.
Nice padded swivel office chairs.
People used to make fun of me. Until they sit in my ground blind.
Because I typically see deer while turkey hunting.
I have started deer hunting using the same setup.
Shot a 7 pt walking straight to me at 20 yds.
I haven’t figured out how to bowhunt from my ground blinds.
Yet…
